Avant Guardian Show

Tonight was the Avant Guardian/Surface Magazine party @ Splashlight.  They had delicious chicken, we were interviewed on camera horribly and people shared in the Robot Love.   The Avant Guardian issue is out now, so go see! Pics of friends/festivities from tonight below.

So you know.  From Kotaku. wwwwwwwww

"So, we’ve decided. "lol" (AKA "Laugh Out Loud") is dead. We’ve killed
it. All the cool kids (read: Plunkett, McWhertor, me) have ditched the
"lol." It’s kinda hard to type. Well, not that hard, but still. And
"ha"? That actually is too hard to type. We’re going with
"wwwww" or any of its variants: WwWwWw, WwwwW, wWwWw, WWwww, etc… The
five Ws is purely arbitrary — more is welcomed! Those who spend time on
the Japanese internet recognize the "wwwww" as being short for "warau"
(笑う), the Japanese verb for laugh. So "wwwww" is the equivalent of
"lol". The nice part about it is that its flexible. Meaning? If
something is really funny, you can go "wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww." But if
something is kinda funny, a "wwww" is fine. That is easier to
type than "lolololololol," and like I said, it’s flexible. LOL? Gone,
done and dusted. Wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww."

It’s too bad she won’t live! But then again, who does?

Today we visited the Ziegfeld, aka the most beautiful theater of all, and saw "Blade Runner – The Final Cut" which celebrates the 25th anniversary of what is one of the most amazing films and shows Ridley Scott’s original vision of his film.  It’s only playing in 2 theaters (sorry) – Ziegfeld in New York and the Landmark in Los Angeles.  So if you live there, you must go.  I believe it’s only there for the next week or so.  If you can’t, the 5 disc dvd set will be released before Christmas.  It was quite amazing to finally see it on the big screen since when it first came out I wasn’t even born yet, but none the less – thrilling, beautiful and inspiring.   Ziegfeld is at 141 West 54th Street (between 6th/7th) / Tickets are $12.

If you don’t already know (not sure how you couldn’t), we have a fondness of all things with faces.  We personify them, save them from the imprisonment of stores and give them glorious lives.  So you can imagine when Halloween comes, it’s insanity and very dangerous to go to any stores that might have "holiday sections" (the rest of the year is generally not safe for us to go out since there are some many face holidays coming up).  Got the decorations out a few nights ago, still have some other things to put up (the bat that goes crazy when you walk by, the lights to decorate robot, the paper towel ghosts we make, etc).  Just wanted to share some friends with you.
