Beck’s Green Box Project

Can we tell you how much we wanted to share this project with you? It’s been killing us.

Thanks to Beck’s, the Protein team, our team (Aki, Lottie, Saya, Layla, Vanusa) and everyone else that helped along the way!

Today, July 15th, our augmented reality project Super_AR_Avatars goes live in Milan!

We were selected as one of the launching artists of the Beck’s Green Box AR Project.  We will be launching in Milan – the boxes will be worldwide throughout the next year in New York, London, Milan, Miami, Los Angeles and more.  So if you’re in Milan, grab your smartphone, download the app, and see our magical world! You can find more about this project at www.becks.com.

Here is a preview image from our project (credit).  A description reads: “Reed + Rader have turned their Green Box at landmark Via Pio IV in Milan into a fantastical world of photo realistic, fairy tale fashion animations. An enchanting, pixie-like model with candy-flossed hair kicks her way through video-game inspired scenery, finding herself on a journey through a sky full of puffed up clouds and lost balloons. Inspired by the virtual world of dreamy impossibilities, Reed + Rader have taken their well-loved playful approach and created a Green Box full of aesthetically pleasing fashion fun.”

We’re super proud of this project, once we can get a video if it live in action we’ll share that too. <3

Oven Roasted Tomatoes

In my  never ending google search of “What to do with tomatoes” – I found oven roasted tomatoes and thought “Yes, let’s do it!”. So off we go..

What you need:

Tomatoes – cherry or grape size – how many you want is up to you

Olive Oil (about 2tablespoons)

Minced Garlic (about 1 tablespoon)

Fresh herbs (oregano or basil is great!)

Salt and Pepper to taste

Gather up your tomatoes, I’m using cherry tomatoes.

Clean them, cut them in half and then toss in bowl with olive oil, garlic, herbs (I used garden oregano) and salt/pepper.

Put them on parchment or aluminum foil.

Put in the oven at 350 for 45 minutes.  When they come out, you will see and smell glory.

How do you eat them? Well you can eat as is, on some crackers, on some bread, or what I did – on pasta.

I made some fusilli pasta with garlic alfredo sauce and then put the tomatoes on top – it was beyond delicious.

Basil, Bacon, Tomato Sandwich

This is what we had for dinner tonight! It tasted like a gourmet sandwich, but more special because all the vegetables were picked a little before this. :)

What you need:

photo 1.JPG

Slices of tomatoes – about 5 per sandwich.

For this I went to my current tomato stash… ;)

photo 3.JPG

About 5 basil leaves per sandwich.

Some nice bread – here is french sourdough.

Put everything on the bread, add a piece of cheese if you’d like, sprinkle some salt and pepper.

Then make some bacon – about 2-3 slices per sandwich. For mine I made turkey bacon.  TADA!

It was delicious!

What to serve on the side? Well garden fresh vegetables of course.. so good.

Bon appetite!

Fruit Smoothies

I am currently obsessed with making any kind of fruit I can find into a smoothie.  This is great because 1. it’s delicious, 2. it’s healthy, 3. you never have a excuse to throw away fruit anymore.

All I do is cut up fruit into little chunks – any fruit you want, mix and match.  I love to then blend it up and watch it change colors.

Then after you blend the fruit, throw in a few ice cubes and blend again.

Put some mint on top if you’d like and a cute little straw too.

For this one, it’s orange, cantaloupe and pineapple:
