Neon Dinner Party

What is a Neon Dinner Party? Well it’s a dinner party that loves everything neon.  Last night we attended a neon party at a friend’s home.  For the occasion I made some neon rice dishes (post coming soon) that worked out well after some planning with food color.

Enjoy the colors!

Many things can be made with glow sticks, like happy faces.

There were lots of yummy food there.  A highlight was the black bean dip. (not pictured, too busy eating it)

Another highlight were these mud cups that had brownie mix with chocolate ice cream in between, topped with mint and a neon sour worm.  Get ready to have your mind blown: The brownie mixture was just  made with brownie mix, eggs and peeled carrots. WAIT, what? I know. Even more amazing, they tasted delicious and I couldn’t really tell there was no butter missing. Major noms.

There was even some edible sparkle glitter at one point.

There were 3 chickens to feast on as well, all cooked with a half full beer can inside them? I never heard of this but I hear it’s popular in the South. It was surprisingly really good, no beer taste left, just really moist chicken. Very MMMM.

I bought this caterpillar for the dog of the night, Oscar.  I have a feeling the caterpillar hasn’t made it until today because in 20 minutes, I saw some stuffing pop out.  I hope Oscar enjoyed it.  The picture up above in the beginning is Oscar enjoying the caterpillar who is already missing one antenna.  Sorry caterpillar!
