100 Calorie Single Serving Brownie

If you’re like me then when you make brownies, it’s a batch. There’s 2 of us who live here and the cats can’t eat chocolate, so what do I have to do? Ok, I have to eat them all.  I mean if not, they go bad and we wouldn’t want that.  I mean, ok, I could share with friends, but I could also not share with friends and just eat them all myself.  This is great, but also very bad.  So what do you do when you want a brownie but you don’t want to make a entire batch to prevent the guilt? You make single serving 100 calorie brownies! You microwave them and they’re done in a minute.   These little guys are pretty good.  Look, I’m not telling you they are as good as a regular double chocolate fudge brownies, because they aren’t.  But will they fulfill your chocolate craving and prevent you from eating 5 servings in 1 sitting? Yes.  Try them!

One brownie:
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
2 tablespoons of apple sauce
pinch of baking soda
pinch of salt

Directions:
Mix all the ingredients up.
Put in microwave for 1-1:30 minutes.
Put a little bit of powdered sugar on top.
Eat it up!

Update Note: After making this multiple times now, if you want it a little more creamy, add a half teaspoon of Nutella. Yes, the calories will go up a bit, but this will knock your socks off, and it’s still healthier than the usual versions.

  1. Ive tried heaps of low calorie brownie and mug cake recipes. They always taste like plastic to me. However my mum absolutely loved this recipe :)

  2. Wow, this rocks. I only had Strawberry flavored applesauce. Put a little sugar free syrup in the mix and a drop or two of vanilla creamer. One it was done, dropped some light whip cream on top, some strawberry slices, and a little drizzle of sugar free chocolate syrup. Delish!!!

    • Hey Nicole – wow, you are making my mouth water – that sounds delicious! Thanks for sharing, I’m going to have to pick up some strawberries next time at the grocery store! Blueberries would be great too….
