I think I made my greatest pumpkin pie ever this week.  I’m going to eat it all, just me.  Usually I eat it around 5AM, I leave the refrigerator door open for light, stand at the island and just eat out of the pie tray. I don’t even get a plate.  But if it’s just me eating it, does it really matter?   Then I will put it back in the fridge, and sometimes I will come back 1 minute later. I’d like  to think this is considered sleep eating, even though I’m very aware of what I’m doing.  The goal: eat pumpkin pie.  I think because it’s during the night and I’m creeping in the shadows, it’s more exciting.  It also makes me feel like a spy.  It also hides the guilt.  There’s alot of guilt.  Also I want to give out a shot out to Glick’s graham cracker crust, I bought this because it was on sale for 99 cents at my local grocery store and thought “why not”. So then I used one, and it was the greatest pie crust ever.  I’m not sure why or how, but you need to try this.  This is a kosher crust, so try a kosher grocery store, or maybe others would have it too (edit: Shop-Rite sells them)?  Not sure.  You can buy it here too.  This is not a advertisement for Glick’s, I’m just honestly in awe of how good this crust is and think you should experience the joy too.

Anyways, the whole goal of this post was to show you how our pumpkin plants are doing, but then I got off topic about pumpkin pie.  I guess it’s not really that off topic considering the pie wouldn’t be possible without the plants, but I’m not sure how relevant me talking about a pie eating spy in the middle of the night fit in, but it did, I think.

So our pumpkin plants.. they are growing big.  I love when one day they are little and the next time you look they are escaping out the bottom of the boxes.  There’s no pumpkins yet, but we are starting to get our first male flowers, so now I’m just on the lookout for females to introduce them to.

The vines that escape.  When I used to grow pumpkins as a kid our entire backyard was filled with pumpkin vines.  Our backyard was also about 10×10, but it was all pumpkins!
