Look – I know buying pineapple in a can is easy, I get it, but let’s be frank here (I think we’re at this time in our relationship) – if you’re not buying a fresh pineapple, you’re missing out.  Canned pineapple and fresh pineapple almost taste like 2 different fruits.  I swoon at the thought of fresh pineapple slices.  Instead of grabbing the cookies for my 1AM snack, I’ve been grabbing pineapple slices and snuggle under the comforter in the AC’d room (cats included) – can life be grander?

Tip: When you get the pineapple home, put it in the fridge upside down for 30 minutes – upside down so the sugar can visit the entire fruit.

Then pull the top off – it comes off easy if it’s ripe.
