I have a new game I’m playing by myself. I always buy ingredients and don’t use everything and often the rest gets thrown away. I want to stop this, so my mission is to find recipes that use left over ingredients. I bought some cocoa powder a while ago that I used for hot chocolate once and into the pantry it went. So today I decided to pull it out and make some Nutella + Peanut Butter Brownies. You are going to love me.
You can find the original recipe here, my slight tweaks are below.
2 sticks melted margarine
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla flavor
1 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/8 teaspoon salt (i prefer sea salt)
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup Nutella
1/2 cup peanut butter (any kind)
Chocolate chips (to put on top!)
Mix flower, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder together.
Melt butter over low heat until completely melted. Add in sugar and vanilla. Remove from heat.
Add in eggs – one at a time. Stir good!
Microwave your Nutella and peanut butter together until it’s creamy – about 15/20 seconds.
Stir everything together.
30 minutes – 350 degrees.
Let cool, then put mini chocolate chips on!
Ingredients: Flower, Sugar, Butter, Nutella, Cocoa Powder, Baking Powder, Vanilla, Salt, Peanut Butter, Eggs.
Here is the cocoa powder, it was 10.99 a pound – I wasn’t messing around when I bought it.
Mix flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder together.
Melt the butter over low heat, this takes some time, but patience. Put on a little music and dance during this time.
Add the sugar and vanilla until it has a apple sauce-like creaminess.
Mix the eggs with it, one at a time. Don’t forget to compost the shells after you’re done.
I know you’re thinking where’s the Nutella? Yeah well I use Dellinut – it’s Kosher Nutella. It’s delicious and I usually eat it by the spoonful when I’m home alone.
1/2 cup Nutella, 1/2 cup Peanut Butter. Nuke it in the microwave for 20 seconds.
At this time, cats and people will start to smell the amazingness you’re creating and will begin surrounding you. Don’t lose your concentration, we know their tricks.
When you pour the peanut butter/nutella into the mixture, the smell will affect you. You will start seeing stars, you will begin humming a tune, your belly will make sounds.
Mix the mixture up good, to a point of where you want to just eat it.
Pour in a pan, 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Always save a little bit from your bowl. This will preoccupy you while it’s in the oven. This is my favorite part. Enjoy! Check your email, make a blog post, just clean up your mess on the keyboard when you’re done (ooops).
All done, MMMMM! A delicious dessert, or dinner.
